Having days when everything feels like it’s falling apart is inevitable. Those days when we just stay in bed all day and eat junk food.
Some people will say when these days come around you just need to suck it up and push through, but let’s be real. That is not always possible.
Take your day of rest, but make sure to do a few things.
Reflect. You need to dig down and figure out why you are feeling this way. Feel your feelings.
Take care of yourself. Eat, drink water, whatever basic things you can. A quick workout can do wonders to your brain in moments like this as well if you can muster the motivation to do so.
Lastly, you need to bounce back. If you fail to bounce back, one day becomes a week and you are spiraling. Make a plan, get back to your regular schedule as fast as you can. I try and start the following day off with a task I know I need to get done that will make me feel accomplished, like writing an article for next week!
A day of reset is good, a week or more of abandoning your responsibilities is not. If that is the case, seek support from your support system.
Wise words!
